Hotels near the Grand Canyon are close enough to the Rim to make for a short drive into the canyon. The Grand Canyon Hotel at the Grand Canyon

Built in 1998, The Grand Canyon Hotel at the Grand Canyon is located one mile from the southern entrance of the Grand Canyon National Park. El Tovar Hotel

The El Tovar Hotel is a historical hotel that first opened its doors to the public in 1905. Built directly on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, El Tovar is considered to be one of the most unique and charming hotels west of the Mississippi River. It has become one of the most popular hotels within the Grand Canyon National Park due to its unique design and vast accommodations, including in-room dining and deluxe suites.

While this Grand Canyon South Rim hotel offers a unique and luxurious experience, these suites are in high demand and often fill very quickly, thus, requiring bookings to be made well in advance of a vacation. This hotel is also one of the more expensive hotels in the Grand Canyon, with average costs ranging between $461 and $561 per night.

Yavapai Lodge

The Yavapai Lodge is located within the Grand Canyon National Park near the South Rim of the park. The lodge’s simplistic beauty can only be beaten by the many accommodations that the lodge providers travelers. It is also one of the hotels within the canyons that is pet-friendly. This lodge also features a popular restaurant and coffee shop.

In addition to providing excellent customer service and comfort to guests, guests can receive assistance in planning daily activities within the Grand Canyon. The lodge offers one to four-day itineraries as well as information on scenic routes, family fun activities within the area and places within the canyons to explore.

Maswik Lodge

Constructed in 1927, the Maswik Lodge is a 280-room hotel that is nestled within dozens of acres of the Ponderosa pine forest. In addition to the main buildings, the lodge features several cabins that offer guests a unique lodging experience during their stay at the Grand Canyon National Park.

Maswik is located about a quarter mile from the edge of the canyon. Visitors can easily reach the Grand Canyon Rim after a short walk, drive or by bus. In addition to its fantastic location, the lodge rooms feature satellite TV, telephone service, Keurig coffee makers and rollaway beds upon request.

Phantom Ranch Grand Canyon

If you are looking for Grand Canyon hotels that are further into the canyon, you need not look further than the Phantom Ranch. The Phantom Ranch is located at the bottom of the Grand Canyon on the north side of the Colorado River. Today, it is the only lodging option (other than campgrounds) that is located below the canyon rim.

The Phantom Ranch in the Grand Canyon features rustic cabins and a main lodging building that all blend in well with the natural beauty of the area. Inaccessible to cars, the Phantom Ranch can only be reached on foot, by mule or by rafting down the Colorado River.

Space in the Phantom Ranch is extremely limited and reservations must be made well in advance. Reservations can be made up to a maximum of four consecutive nights for up to nine guests for standard cabins. However, prices may vary based upon the number of guests that will be visiting the ranch.

Best Western Grand Canyon

The Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn is located a couple of miles from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. The inn features several different room layouts, including suites, deluxe and traditional rooms. Due to its location, this Best Western location has become a popular spot among tourists as well as one that is considered to be affordable in comparison to some of the other lodging options within the area.

This Best Western Inn offers several different hotel specials and vacation packages, including packages that offer helicopter tours, rafting adventures down the Colorado River and more. The inn also features indoor and outdoor hot tubs and a unique onsite gift shop.

Holiday Inn Express Grand Canyon

If you are looking for hotels near the Grand Canyon, there is a Holiday Inn Express just one mile from the entrance of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. Guest can enjoy several amenities during their stay, including free Wi-Fi, a free breakfast buffet, complimentary coffee throughout the day and a restaurant that provides free meals to kids with a paying adult. There is an indoor heated pool and an indoor whirlpool on site.

As with most hotels near the Grand Canyon, this Holiday Inn Express can provide more affordable accommodations compared to some of the hotels that are located within the Grand Canyon. While outside of the canyon, the hotel is close enough to the canyon that guests can reach the entrance of the national park with a short drive.
